Hey there! I am currently a 5th grade teacher in Southern California. I was born and raised in Southern California and I teach in the same school district I attended growing up. I have always wanted to be a teacher. I often tell people the story about how I used to "teach" my dolls and make them do homework (but really I was giving myself homework because they're dolls and can't actually write for themselves).

I fell in love with teaching 5th grade when I was student teaching. If you would have asked me what grade I wanted to teach before student teaching, I would have probably said first or second grade. Once I was through student teaching, I knew my place was with the older of the elementary students. It was during student teaching that I fell in love with the personalities of 10 year olds.
